Lopez, Anthony premiere own film

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were in Puerto Rico for the world premiere of their new movie, El Cantante.

The couple greeted fans and press on the red carpet at the Museo del Arte Theatre in San Juan.

Lopez and Anthony co-star in the film - a biopic about the troubled life of Puerto Rican Salsa star Hector Lavoe.

Crowds lined the street, cheering as the couple arrived. Lopez and Anthony, both from Puerto Rican families, are great favourites on the island.

Jennifer Lopez has reportedly beefed up security in response to ugly threats on her life. According to a friend, an animal-rights extremist has been sending letters threatening 'to kill her in public, just like the slaughtered animals whose fur she wears."

The source says J.Lo initially dismissed the notes, which have been arriving for a month, as lunatic junk mail. But husband Marc Anthony isn't taking the matter lightly. "He has hired two off-duty police officers, in addition to her usual security team, to watch over Lopez whenever she makes public appearances," says the pal.

The diva, whose career has cooled a bit in the U.S. — is reportedly being paid $2 million to sing at a 30th birthday party that a Russian tycoon is throwing for his wife.

Andrei Melnichenko, a 35-year-old Russian banker, is flying Lopez to the U.K. to entertain his model wife, Aleksandra, and her 60 guests at their home for her birthday bash, according to various overseas reports. The tab is said to be $1.2 million fee, plus $800,000 for Lopez and her entourage’s expenses. Melnichenko’s personal fortune is reportedly close to $5 billion .
