R&B star AKON is under investigation by New York authorities after footage emerged of him tossing a young fan into the crowd at a gig.
The Smack That singer is seen throwing the audience member into the crowd during a concert at radio station WSPK's KFEST in Fishkill, New York, after an object was hurled at him during his set.
Security guards pulled the alleged offender from the crowd after the initial incident, and directed to Akon, who then threw him back into the audience.
Detective Lieutenant John Berlingieri of Fishkill Police has revealed officers are attempting to track down the human missile.
He says, "We're trying to identify that kid, just to find out whether or not we have any kind of criminal offence.
"We are looking to speak to him. No victim. No crime." It is not the first time Akon's live shows have caused controversy - last month (May07) the star was forced to issue an apology to the people of Trinidad for dancing in a raunchy manner with a 14-year-old girl during a gig in April (07), after the country's Prime Minister launched an investigation into the incident.
