After four years together, Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter has finally popped the question to Beyonce Knowles, according to British newspaper reports.
Carter flew out on a surprise visit last week to Cannes to see Beyonce for a romantic weekend, and caught her by surprise by asking for her hand in marriage, reads the News Of The World.
An unnamed source says the rapper has promised her "the biggest diamond she can fit on her finger," after the former Destiny's Child star accepted the proposal.
"This will be the hip-hop wedding to end all hip-hop weddings," they add.
Beyonce is currently in Europe as part of her world tour, and spoke openly of her relationship with the rap mogul. "I want to get married and really want a family - in a perfect world I'd have two boys and a girl. You know someone loves you by the way he treats you and respects you. Me and Jay respect each other."
The couple are thought to be planning their marriage in Hawaii later this year.
